How to properly measure your dog's collar?
To ensure your dog's collar fits perfectly, it's essential to take proper measurements. Here's a simple and accurate guide to help you measure your dog's neck correctly.
Measuring a necklace
Step 1: Prepare yourself
- Get a flexible tape measure , or if you don't have one, a piece of string and a ruler to measure the length of the string later.
Step 2: Where to measure?
- Place the tape measure around your dog's neck, where the collar would naturally sit . This is usually at the base of the neck, just above the shoulders.
Step 3: Adjustment
- Make sure the tape measure is neither too tight nor too loose. A good tip is to slide two fingers flat under the tape measure as you measure. This ensures optimal comfort for your dog, leaving a little space without the collar being too loose.
Step 4: Note the measurement
- Once you have taken your measurement, write it down . Then compare it to the sizes offered by our Biothane collars:
- Size XXS : 19-25 cm
- Size XS : 24-30cm
- Size S : 26-32 cm
- Size M : 31-37 cm
- Size L : 36-46 cm
- Size XL : 46-56 cm
- Size XXL : 56-66cm
Additional tip:
If you are between sizes, it is usually best to choose the larger size to avoid the collar being too tight. Biothane collars are adjustable, allowing for a margin of comfort while ensuring the collar stays in place.
